How much omega-3 you need depends on your FADS1 gene. Some vegans will need to supplement - while others may be able to get enough from flaxseeds.

BCMO1

Do you need to eat more carrots? BCMO1 converts beta-carotene from plant-foods into the form of Vitamin A our bodies need. But some variations are slower than others.

VDR stands for vitamin D receptor. It binds to vitamin D to increase calcium absorption. Some people have variations of the VDR gene resulting in lower calcium absorption from food.
